Location

Jiwarli was traditionally spoken along the upper reaches of the Henry River, a tributary of the Ashburton River, in the north-west of Western Australia.

The places which mark the limits of Jiwarli territory are:

North: mirni Minnie Springs . Here the Jiwarli territory meets the land of the Thalanyji

North-east: gajiriwari Mount Florrie, on the border with the Binigura

South-east: yaalha pool on Henry River East Branch

South-west: garlabaya High Range. This borders on Tharrgari land

South: jabarndibirri Edmund River, borders on Warriyangga land, and the Barlee Range borders on the land of the Thiin
